For International Woman's Day we are spending a week celebrating some of the amazing women who make our community so great! We will be uploading profiles daily where they have shared their experiences as women in their fields of work and more. Today we want you to meet Caz Brazell!

For Day 7 of our International Women's Day feature we have made a profile on another amazing woman in our community, Caz Brazell. Caz works hard to keep your information safe and secure in her role as a consultant. Outside of that she is doing incredible work with at risk young people to help provide them with purpose and community. Few people are as committed as she and that's why we are so glad to be celebrating her along with every woman in the Colony Community.

Who is Caz Brazell?

By day I am an Information Security Consultant, working with different organisations helping them understand their security risks and issues and what they need to do to from an identity and access perspective to prevent security issues. By night and weekend, I am an Amateur Boxing coach. I volunteer with clubs in the community predominately training at risk children giving them an outlet and something to be a part of.

What does it meant to be a woman in your field?

Both fields I work in are male dominated but I have established myself in both and I am proud to be an equal and accepted in both fields. It has been tough and I have certainly had different experiences due to being a women but this just made me more determined to succeed and I have big plans to continue to grow and expand in both roles. I still have challenges but both sectors are trying to change and I work hard to inspire and forge a way for more women to do the same.

If you had the knowledge you have now, what would you say to your younger self?

What other people think of you doesn’t matter, stay true to yourself, live by your values and follow your dreams as regardless of other people or your gender if you believe in yourself and keep pushing you will get where you want to be.
