Member Spotlight: Jaymie Shenton, Haiilo

16 April 2025
This month, we caught up with Jaymie Shenton, UK Office Manager at Haiilo, to hear how things have been going since the company opened its Manchester office at Colony Fabrica last year.
We recently caught up with Jaymie Shenton, Office Manager at Haiilo’s Manchester office, to learn more about life at the international company, why more modern businesses are embracing internal communications platforms, and what led them to choose Colony Fabrica as their UK home.
From supporting a fast-growing global team to creating a connected company culture, Jaymie gave us a look inside Haiilo and what’s ahead in 2025.
Nice to meet you Jaymie! Can you tell us a bit about Haiilo and your role in the Manchester office?
Nice to meet you too! Haiilo is an employee experience platform headquartered in Hamburg, with global offices in Helsinki, Paris, Atlanta, and here in the UK - in Manchester and London.
Our Manchester office is based at Fabrica and is currently home to 18 team members, including our Business Development Representatives, Customer Success, Solutions Engineers, Marketing, IT and Executive Management.
I’m the UK Office Manager and also support our CEO, Andrew, as his PA. It’s a varied role, which definitely keeps me on my toes!
Haiilo, in short, turns internal communication into something people actually want to engage with.
It’s a digital home - the central place where all internal communication comes together. Whether employees are in the office, remote, or on the shop floor, Haiilo helps you reach everyone with messages that actually land.
From email and intranet to mobile app, you can share updates across all the right channels, keep communities connected, empower managers to communicate clearly, and gain insights with built-in analytics. It’s much more than a comms tool - it’s how you build connection, alignment, and culture.

Why do modern companies need platforms like Haiilo?
Internal communication has never been more complex - or more critical. The way we work has changed. Hybrid, remote, deskless - teams are everywhere. And traditional tools just don’t reach everyone.
People crave clarity, connection, and purpose but employees are overwhelmed by too many messages across too many channels. Haiilo helps cut through the noise.
Leaders and managers often struggle to connect effectively. Haiilo gives them the tools to communicate with clarity and consistency, so messages don’t get lost in translation.
And for stretched comms teams, Haiilo simplifies everything. With limited time and resources, they need a platform that makes it easier to plan, publish, and measure from one central place.
Ultimately, engagement matters. Disconnected employees don’t just miss updates, they miss out on culture, vision, and belonging. Haiilo helps bring all of that to life.
Is Manchester your main base in the UK, and what is it like working for an international company?
Yes, Manchester is one of our main UK offices. Andrew who is based in Manchester, had been working from home for a while, and although there were a few team members in London, it wasn’t cost-effective to base our operations there. He wanted a more permanent hub, and Manchester turned out to be the perfect fit. Fabrica is on the edge of the city centre - close to the station and with great parking, which makes commuting easy for everyone.
Working for an international company like Haiilo is fantastic. While we don’t interact with our global offices every day, we all come together once a year for a company kick-off in Hamburg. The Hamburg office is particularly special - it’s actually the only one that isn’t in a flexible workspace. This year, 230 of us gathered under one roof for meetings, a gala evening, and a round of bingo!
We heard you’re moving into a larger office at Fabrica - congratulations! What’s the key to your success?
Thank you! We’ve grown quickly and will be moving into a 21-person space at Fabrica this summer. It’ll be our second move in 12 months and our third since first joining Fabrica last October.
Colony has been amazing to work with. Their flexible contracts mean we’re not locked into long-term leases, giving us the freedom to grow as we need.
Haiilo has been successful for some time, but a recent restructure and fresh leadership have helped us move in an exciting new direction. It’s been a real turning point.
What’s next for Haiilo in 2025?
Looking ahead, Haiilo is focused on continuously evolving our platform to better support internal communications professionals.
We’re building upon our AI-powered assistant, AVA, to streamline the entire process of planning, creating, distributing, and consuming internal communications.
We’re also enhancing our analytics features, aiming to provide deeper insights into employee engagement, enabling communicators to make data-driven decisions and demonstrate the ROI of their internal communications programmes.
From a business perspective, 2025 will see us growing our presence both in the UK and internationally, while continuing to adapt our platform to meet the changing needs of organisations around the world.
If you're interested in our product roadmap or want to help shape what’s next, our Client Community is the perfect place to explore upcoming features, stay informed, and share your ideas.
What’s one of your favourite things about working in New Islington?
I’m from Manchester, but I didn’t know much about New Islington before I started at Haiilo. It’s been a great place to work and convenient for me as a working mum.
Laura and Charlotte at Colony have been incredibly helpful, always offering great dinner and drink recommendations. I’ve never worked with such a supportive team before. I’ve experienced other serviced offices, but the level of care here is unmatched.
Given your company’s needs, what made you choose a serviced workspace over a traditional office?
Colony really goes above and beyond to make people feel supported. We love the socials - especially our sales team, who go to all of them! In fact, after our other offices heard about Thursday brunch, I’m now organising them for the London team too.
What’s great is that I don’t have to plan any of it here - Colony handles everything. That’s a huge help.
I’ve also been managing the fit-out of our London office, which is in a different flexible workspace. When the team visited Fabrica, they were so impressed with the interior that I’ve been chatting with Laura and Charlotte to find out where Colony sources their plants and furnishings - we want to recreate the same look and feel in London!
Glad to hear you’re being well looked after by the team at Colony!
A big thank you to Jaymie for sharing her time and answering our questions. We wish Haiilo all the best with their upcoming move into a bigger office!
