Members Spotlight: Will Hancock - Six15 Group

Colony Co-Working – Down Arrow

18 August 2025

We managed to pin down jet setter Will Hancock from Six15 Group for this month's Members Spotlight. The creative events and artist management group recently moved from Preston to our Colony One Silk St workspace in Ancoats, and we wanted to check in to see how the team is settling in.

Hey Will, welcome to the Colony community! Could you start by telling our readers who Six15 Group are and what you do?

Hey! Of course.

Six15 Group is a creative events and artist management group, founded in Preston. We supply all kinds of performers - saxophonists, singers, bands, DJs - for every type of event, from weddings and corporate parties to private celebrations.

Our work takes us all over the world. New Year’s Eve and Halloween are always huge for us, but summer is our busiest season, packed with festivals and weddings. We do everything from mid-budget celebrations here in the UK to large celebrity footballer weddings abroad.

It’s not all long-haul flights and cross country travelling though - we also work closer to home, supplying artists to bars, restaurants, and nightclubs in Manchester.

Alongside live events, we have a music production arm that creates bespoke tracks and playlists for big brands. If you’ve ever taken a David Lloyd gym class and wondered who made the playlist - that’s us.

You mentioned the business started in Preston. How long were you there, and what prompted the move to Manchester?

Six15 has been running for 12 years and our first home was a warehouse in Preston - production set-up downstairs, with an attic office above. Let’s just say it wasn’t the best working environment.

We later moved into a coworking space in Preston, which was nice but not as nice as One Silk Street. Most of our clients are in Manchester and we love the building, so the decision to relocate was easy.

Today, we have around nine full-time team members, with four or five based in our One Silk Street office.

And how’s the team finding life at Colony?

We love it here. Having our own private office was important - a quiet, collaborative space just for the team. We also appreciate the variety of communal areas. The ground-floor Co-Lounge is high-energy and sociable, while the second-floor communal space and kitchen is nice and quiet, with plenty of breakout areas. We’ve even claimed the sofa set-up outside our office as a great spot for client catch-ups.

We’re looking forward to making the most of the Colony network too. There are other creative companies that do similar things to us here, we’d love to collaborate with them.

It’s been hard to pin you guys down - summer really is your peak season. What have you been up to?

That’s the nature of the business in summer! We’ve had events in Marbella, Ibiza, Italy, and the South of France. Most gigs are just one or two days, so it’s fly in, work the event, fly out - then straight on to the next one!

We’ve done quite a few celebrity footballer weddings (can’t name names - NDAs and all that!) and we’ve noticed more couples choosing destination weddings now compared to a few years ago.

A recent highlight was the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 with BMW, where we staged a flash mob of multiple musicians jumping out of all of the cars for a surprise party set and then disappearing!

This weekend we’re at Creamfields, supplying DJs, saxophonists, and percussionists. At the end of the month, we’ll be at Thandaza On The Rooftop - an afrohouse party at Liberty Sky Garden in Liverpool - with live sax, percussion, eclectic violin, and a 360° DJ booth. Tickets are still available if anyone fancies it!

Your job sounds like a dream for music and travel lovers. How did you get into this career?

I’m originally from London, but my DJing career really took off in Manchester. I’ve been a DJ for 20 years and have lived all over the world - Leeds, Manchester, Dubai, Ibiza - running events and nightclubs.

When I returned to the UK, I started working with Six15 four years ago and became co-owner three years ago. The business was originally founded by two sax players, known by their stage names as Dax on Sax and Tom Da Lips, and I brought the DJ perspective that had been missing at the time.

Any standout moments from your DJ career?

I’ve DJ’d at a party for Snoop Dogg, which was pretty cool…

When I was 20, I was working for BBC Radio 1 and was meant to interview Kanye West at a press junket. I was last on the list, but they ran out of time, so they asked me to jump in his taxi and interview him as we drove through London. That was surreal!

If our readers want to work with Six15, where should they go?
