Member Spotlight: Simon Misra - Spring Production

Colony Co-Working – Down Arrow

13 February 2025

For our member spotlight this month we sat down with Simon from Spring Production based at our Colony Flint Glass Works workspace. Simon is the Head of Operations for Spring Productions, so we wanted to find out what it is like to work from the former glass factory.

The Member Spotlights are back for 2025! This month, we're catching up with Simon Misra from Spring Production, a global creative content production company with offices in Denmark, Germany, Vietnam, and right here in the UK, in Manchester.

Since Spring Productions moved into Flint Glass Works in November 2024, you’ve probably seen Simon and his team hanging out in the co-lounge. But don’t be fooled by their chilled exterior - behind the scenes, they’ve been hard at work, growing their 12-person team over the past year.

Curious about what’s on the horizon for Spring Production in 2025? Here’s what Simon has to share…

Hey Simon! Can you tell us a bit about what you do?

Hello! I’ve been with Spring Production for 15 years now. I started out in a creative role, then moved into account management before being asked to step into a full-time operational role.

Behind the scenes, we’re busy producing great work for our clients. Our mission is to bring creativity to life by producing all the assets needed to captivate and engage audiences. With more than 350 specialists across our offices worldwide, we focus on four key areas of marketing production - content writing, graphics, 3D & motion, and digital.

We’re a Danish company, and that really comes through in our work ethos and culture across our global offices. It doesn’t matter where we sit in the world, we work as one team - and as we always say, ‘better together’. You can discover how we make it work and check out some of the wonderful work we do for our clients on our website.

What’s one of your favourite things about working in Manchester and, more specifically, Ancoats?

Manchester is a fantastic, creative place to work. I’ve worked here for over 20 years at various agencies and it’s lovely to see how Ancoats has changed over the years. It’s a vibrant cultural hub, making it a great area to work in.

Simon Misra, Head of Operations at Spring Production

As we continue into 2025, what are some of the challenges facing your industry today?

Technology is so fast paced, which presents both an exciting challenge and an opportunity to explore how AI-powered automated production platforms can work for us and our clients. This brings with it the challenge of ensuring data privacy and security as we embrace these new technologies.

We have a dedicated Innovations and Compliance team that keeps us informed about the latest advancements and regulatory changes. We work closely with our global clients to share these developments and continuously optimise our ways of working together.

We are also currently working on the Spring Production Spendshift report, which will address some of the key challenges companies will face in 2025, particularly as marketing procurement undergoes a period of rapid transformation. Keep an eye on our LinkedIn page for more details!

How do you expect the company to evolve in the coming months and years, and what exciting plans (that you can share) do you have for the year ahead?

We have a dedicated Content Writing Team in the UK and are excited to expand this service offering further. Building awareness of Spring Production in the UK will be a key part of our plans in 2025, along with growing our UK client base, which already includes household names like Center Parcs and Pets Choice.

We’re really looking forward to what 2025 has in store for Spring Production in the UK!

Given the requirements of your business, what made you choose Colony over a traditional office? And what drew you to Flint Glass Works in particular?

We needed a flexible model that would allow us to scale up quickly if needed. The UK team has expanded quite rapidly over the past year. Having breakout spaces for the team, so they don’t all have to sit in one area, was a huge plus. We also really liked the layout of Flint Glass Works. Having a fully serviced office is a great help from an operational perspective too!

What is it like to be part of our Colony community?

Everyone at Colony is very friendly, and it’s great to be in such a relaxed environment while meeting the different companies and people working here. There’s always an interesting mix of people from various sectors buzzing about in the communal areas.

Thank you very much for your time and for allowing us to shine a spotlight on you and Spring Production. All the best for 2025, and we’ll see you in the coffee queue!
